Our department will host the 6th annual fundraiser to benefit Light of Life Rescue Mission on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Phipps Conservatory.

Boris Anyama, MD, and Stephanie Parry, MD, both former residents and fellows, are now colleagues and faculty members who recently worked side by side to provide expert care for both mother and baby at UPMC Horizon.

The ABA BASIC Exam, taken at the conclusion of residents’ CA-1 year, is the first step in the three-part process toward board certification in anesthesiology. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and academic excellence of our trainees.

We celebrated the UPMC Anesthesiology Residency Class of 2025 on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the historic Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel.

We are calling on all alumni and current department physician faculty to nominate our UPMC Anesthesiology Residency Program (listed as "UPMC Medical Education") on Doximity’s annual Nomination Survey, a platform partnered with US News and World Report.

Drs. Elaina Anglin, Dylan Bard, John Driggers, Jason Greib, Nathan Hyre, Brett Marshall, and Megan Turner were honored for their exceptional scores on this year’s American Board of Anesthesiology (ABA) In-Training Examination (ITE), placing in the top 5% nationally.

We matched 23 top students (18 categorical, three advanced, one Panther Research Scholar, and one combined anesthesiology/pediatrics resident) from the 1,417 candidates who applied to our program.
