Our residents have started a fundraiser to collect donations for the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and help the many members of our community who are now struggling to feed their families due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting damage to our economy.

We announce and congratulate our 2020-2021 chief residents Drs. Neal Shah, Sam Goldstein, and Christian Molzahn.

It was another extremely strong year for our match, with half of our top 10 candidates choosing to match with us.

Our residents’ 3rd Annual Opioid Epidemic Awareness Fundraiser was held on January 25, 2020, at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens and was a tremendous success.

NextStep provides test preparatory services for students taking the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), and the newly-formed Council provides guidance and mentorship to current and future pre-med students through webinars, blog posts, and other online info sessions.

Our residents will be competing and fundraising again in the Annual American Society of Anesthesiology (ASA)-sponsored Run for The Warriors® on Sunday, October 20 as part of the ASA 2019 annual meeting in Orlando, FL.

Each year, ASA encourages resident teams to raise funds for this important cause. Our residents have formed a team to take part in the 2019 fundraising challenge.

Every UPMC Anesthesiology resident who took the exam passed, a testament to the excellence of our residency training program!

Her project, “Contaminated Sharp Injury Among Anesthesia Residents,” was selected as a poster at the 2nd Annual GME (Graduate Medical Education) Quality and Safety Symposium on September 4, 2019, at the University Club.

On May 9, 2019, the Light of Life Rescue Mission, an organization providing teaching, counseling, mentorship, shelter, food, and help for people in need in Pittsburgh, shared their stories and experiences regarding fighting opioid addiction in the Pittsburgh area as part of an annual lecture.
