Our residents Drs. Benjamin Genovese, Craig Johnson, Adam Opitz-Leewe, Elaina Anglin, Marianne Ligon, and Miya Oliver, received our 2024 Chair's Distinction in Anesthesiology Knowledge Awards.

Dr. Paiste's accolade was submitted through the Pitt Med PAIR program, an initiative that allows University of Pittsburgh medical and graduate students to recognize individuals for their extraordinary professionalism and dedication to the service of others.

Residents from our department have come together to organize a special event with a purpose: a Cornhole Tournament to raise funds for the ASA-Lifebox Resident Challenge on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at noon. The event will take place in North Park's Sesqui Pavilion.

Our residents Fernando Brea Parrilla, MD (PGY-3), Henry Guo, MD (PGY-2), Craig Johnson, MD (PGY-2), Wesley Ramirez, MD (PGY-3), and Alexander Varzari, MD (PGY-4) received 2024 Chair's Distinction in Anesthesiology Knowledge Awards in recognition of their outstanding performance on the 2024 American Board of Anesthesiology In-Training Examination (ITE), with scores in the 95th percentile.

Zhongheng "John" Yin, MD, has received a $1,000 2024 Perioperative Echocardiography Council Travel Grant from the American Society of Echocardiography Foundation.
