This recognition is part of the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing's annual Distinguished Alumni Awards, which celebrate Pitt Nursing graduates who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in nursing practice, research, education, and service.

They successfully raised $2,200 for One Day to Remember, a Pittsburgh-based nonprofit dedicated to supporting children whose parents are battling end-stage cancers.

Dr. Williams received the honor in recognition of his outstanding teaching, mentorship, and academic development of our SRNAs as part of UPMC’s Presbyterian’s SRNA Cardiothoracic Anesthesiology Fellowship Mentorship Program.

In celebration of National Nurses Week, UPMC Mercy proudly honored Cara Fleischman and Hannah Roach with the 2025 Advanced Practice Provider Award in recognition of their outstanding contributions to patient care.

On Saturday, March 22, over 100 attendees gathered at UPMC Shadyside’s Herberman Auditorium for this engaging and educational event designed to support registered nurses interested in advancing their careers towards the field of nurse anesthesia.

The Magee Anesthesia Cares committee, a compassionate group of CRNAs at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, recently organized a community service initiative to support Red Door, a ministry that provides essential resources to individuals in need in downtown Pittsburgh.

Pitt’s Schools of Nursing and of Medicine have joined forces to train anesthesia professionals in front of neck access surgical airway management.

The event, organized by Salina Torgerson, DNP, CRNA, took place on Saturday, February 15, and featured a warm and welcoming meal prepared and served by the UPMC Children's CRNAs.

Erica Wiesen, MSN, CRNA, has accepted the position effective April 20, 2025.
