Nicole Nowe, a CRNA at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, was honored for her consistent efforts to go above and beyond her job responsibilities, maintain a high morale in the workplace, and exemplify UPMC’s core values.

John O’Donnell, DrPH, CRNA, CHSE, FSSH, FAANA, FAAN, CHSE, received the prestigious John F. Garde Researcher of the Year Award during the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) 2024 Annual Congress.

Participants gathered to support, celebrate, and fundraise for the patients at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh on June 8, 2024. More than 200 teams participated, including two teams from our anesthesiology departments at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital.

Congratulations to the faculty, CRNAs, and staff who were selected as recipients of our department’s 2024 Chair’s Excellence Awards. These individuals are recognized by our Chair Dr. Aman Mahajan and department leaders for going above and beyond in their service to our patients and department.

Maeve's peers nominated her for the award, citing her exceptional patient care, compassionate bedside manner, and her consistent display of positivity, even in the face of challenges. Her unwavering dedication to providing the highest standard of care has left a lasting impact on both patients and colleagues.

Bethany D. Hyde, MSN, CRNA, has accepted the role of Assistant CRNA Clinical Director at UPMC St. Margaret / UPMC Harmar Outpatient Center, effective June 2, 2024.  Bethany brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to excellence in patient care to this pivotal role.

Nicole R. Nowe, MSN, CRNA, and Clarice Johns, DNP, CRNA, nurse anesthetists at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital, have received awards from the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists.

CRNAs from UPMC Magee Womens Hospital earned top fundraising accolades in Walk MS, a nationwide initiative supporting the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
