Department Faculty and Residents to Present at 2024 Tri-Alliance Symposium

This year, the Pennsylvania Anesthesiology Resident Research Conference (PARRC), along with the annual meetings of the Pennsylvania Pain Society and the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists (PSA) will be linked, forming the 2024 Tri-Alliance Symposium, which will be held February 29 – March 3, 2024, at the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh. This unique event promises to be a groundbreaking convergence of knowledge and collaboration within the fields of anesthesiology and pain management.

Several faculty members from our department will speak at the event:

Mark E. Hudson, MD, MBA, FASA, will present the lecture “Developing, Communicating, and Demonstrating Your Group's Value Proposition” on Saturday, March 2, 2024, 9:15AM-10:15AM, William Penn Ballroom.

Senthil Sadhasivam, MD, MPH, MBA, FASA, will present “Personalizing Surgical Pain Management and Opioid Pharmacogenetics” as part of the Pennsylvania Pain Society meeting on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 1:30 PM.

Elizabeth Ungerman, MD, MS, D.ABA, will speak on the resident practice panel for PARRC and will serve as a judge for the PARRC oral presentations.

Alexandra Nicholas, MD; Harikesh Subramanian, MBBS, MS, D.ABA, ABPM-CI; and Peter J. Davis, MD, will each present as part of a Specialty Panel on Saturday, March 2, 2024, 1:45PM - 3:45PM, William Penn Ballroom.

Dr. Alexandra Nicholas will present “How to Take Care of the OB Patient Undergoing Non-OB Surgery.”

Dr. Harikesh Subramanian will present “How to Take Care of the Cardiac Patient for the Non-Cardiac Anesthesiologist.”

Dr. Peter Davis will present “How to Take Care of a Pediatric Patient for the General Anesthesiologist.”

PARRC abstracts will be presented on Saturday, March 2, 2024, 1:45PM - 4:45PM, Conference A. This annual event will showcase the research and talent of Pennsylvania residents from the seven residency programs across the state, including our program. Our residents will present case reports, cutting-edge research, and other scholarly activities. The top abstract winners for both case reports and original research will be invited to give oral presentations at the conference, while others will be invited to give poster presentations. The PARRC Awards Ceremony will be held Saturday, March 2, 2024, 5:10PM - 5:30PM, William Penn Ballroom. Monetary prizes will be given for the top three presentations for each category.
