The authors from our department were Grace Lim, MD, MS, (first author) and Anne Wanaselja, MD, an alum of our Obstetric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program.

The ASA Mentoring Grant program provides funding to mentor/mentee pairs who submit a project that addresses the goals of the ASA Committee on Professional Diversity.

Laura received the Daniel D. Vigness Federal Political Director Award at the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology Mid-Year Assembly in Washington, D.C. on April 2-6, 2022, and Danielle received the 2022 Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists CRNA of the Year Award on Saturday, April 30, 2022 in Hershey, PA.

The award recognizes excellence in collaborative research between obstetricians & anesthesiologists and named in honor of Frederick P. Zuspan, a leading researcher in the field of maternal-fetal medicine and expert on preeclampsia.

Clinicians at the UPMC-Magee-Womens Hospital Center for Reproduction and Tissue Transplantation, a multidisciplinary, national leader in cutting-edge fertility treatments, performed their first anesthesia procedure on February 11 for a testicular sperm extraction.

The award recognizes staff members who go above and beyond their job duties, maintain a high office morale, and actively display UPMC’s values.

We will participate and present work at the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology 54th Annual Meeting, which will be held in-person in Chicago, Illinois on May 11-15, 2022.

Andrea Ibarra, MD, MS, was selected as one of 25 faculty members from departments and schools across the University of Pittsburgh as a Race and Social Determinants of Equity, Health and Well-Being Scholar.

Grace Lim, MD, MS, was invited to present the 2022 Amanda Turner Russell Memorial Lecture at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology on February 16.
