Regional and Obstetric Anesthesiology Hybrid One-Year Fellowship Pathway

"A woman in a hospital bed holding a baby"

This combined one-year hybrid fellowship comprises advanced training in regional anesthesiology and obstetric anesthesiology. The objectives of the program include advanced training in clinical care, education, and research to obtain expertise in both sub-specialties after satisfactory completion of a core anesthesiology residency.

The instructor-level fellow will learn core and higher level practice in each individual sub-specialty, as well as how to integrate the fields for consultant-level management. The one-year curriculum integrates five months of regional anesthesiology rotations and five months of obstetric anesthesiology rotations. Electives may be chosen from each subspecialty based on the fellow’s preference. Substantial departmental financial and intellectual support through clinical or basic research projects is available, and fellows are expected to present an academic project representing their scholarly contributions to the field.
