UPMC Presbyterian CRNAs Support Local Veterans and Students Through Fall Service Projects

Two side-by-side photos show CRNAs participating in donation drives. In the left image, two women in scrubs hold up donated sleepwear in various colors, standing next to a donation box labeled "Presource PBDS." In the right image, five CRNAs in scrubs smile while holding colorful children’s backpacks decorated with various characters and patterns, standing in a hospital hallway.

This fall, the certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) at UPMC Presbyterian demonstrated their ongoing commitment to community engagement by organizing two community service initiatives.

Throughout October, the team collected new socks in support of Socks for Soldiers, a local outreach initiative coordinated by Pittsburgh radio station Y108. The donated socks were delivered to Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard, a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering veterans as they transition to civilian life.

In addition, the CRNAs coordinated a back-to-school supply drive, collecting bookbags filled with essential school items for local children. The supplies were donated to Pressley Ridge, a Pittsburgh-based organization that supports children and families through comprehensive care, education, and mental health services.

These efforts were just the latest in our UPMC Presbyterian CRNAs’ ongoing dedication to improving lives beyond the hospital walls and making a tangible impact in the Pittsburgh community. We are proud of and inspired by the compassion and leadership they demonstrate both inside and outside the clinical setting.
