Residents with Top AKT-1 Scores Honored with Chair's Distinction Awards

"Department members pose with awards"
L to R: Our Residency Program Associate Director Dr. Konstantinos Alfaras-Melainis, awardees
Drs. Craig Johnson and Elaina Anglin, and our Residency Program Director Dr. Phil Adams.

Craig Johnson, MD, and Elaina Anglin, MD, received Chair's Distinction in Anesthesiology Knowledge Awards in recognition of their outstanding performance on the Anesthesia Knowledge Test-1 (AKT-1) examination, where they achieved scores in the 95th percentile.

The AKT-1 exam is a comprehensive assessment of residents' grasp of fundamental anesthesiology concepts at the outset of their clinical anesthesiology residency training (CA-1 year). It evaluates the progression of their knowledge during the initial four to six weeks of training, comprising a pre-test to gauge baseline anesthesiology knowledge and a post-test to measure the growth achieved in this critical period.

Congratulations to Drs. Anglin and Johnson for their impressive accomplishment!
