Congratulations to our residents Sheri Wang, MD (PGY-3) and Harold Burke, MD (PGY-4), who were selected by the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) Committee on Practice Management to receive the Emerging Leaders Scholarship for ASA ADVANCE 2023: The Anesthesiology Business Event, which will be held January 27-29 in Orlando, FL.
The annual ASA ADVANCE meeting (previously the ASA Practice Management Meeting) is considered the ultimate business event for physician anesthesiologists and practice administrators and among ASA-sponsored events, is second in attendance only to the ASA Annual Meeting. The conference focuses on strategies for anesthesiology practices to ensure financial and business success and features topics such as quality, technology, wellness, human resources, and economics.
The ASA Emerging Leaders Scholarship was established to recognize outstanding anesthesiology residents in their second, third, and fourth years of training who demonstrate aptitude and portray interest in leadership and practice management. The scholarship will reimburse Drs. Wang and Burke each up to $1,000 for airfare, registration, and two-nights hotel stay.
