Violinist Monique Mead Plays for Chronic Pain Self-Management Group

On July 18, 2019, Monique Mead performed a violin concert for patients in the chronic pain self-management groups at our UPMC Pain Medicine location in Centre Commons. Patients in the groups, led by Cheryl Bernstein, MD and Susan E. Jarquin, PhD, are living with a range of chronic pain conditions.

Violinist Monique Mead is an Assistant Teaching Professor and the Director of Music Entrepreneurship in the School of Music at Carnegie Mellon University. She is aiming to gift 50 concerts of Beethoven’s Violin Concerto to individuals and groups experiencing adversity, whose spirits might be lifted by live music.
