Susan Kelly Appointed Children’s CRNA Clinical Director

Congratulations to Susan M. Kelly, MSN, CRNA, who has accepted the role of CRNA Clinical Director for UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh (CHP) and CHP North effective June 7, 2020. Sue has served as the Assistant CRNA Clinical Director at CHP since 2006 and has been a CRNA at CHP since 1994, where she also served as a member of the Allied Health CRNA Liaison and CRNA Recruitment/Retention Committees and SRNA Clinical Coordinator. 

In addition to her role as a CRNA, Sue has served as an instructor for the WISER Pediatric Simulation Course and Clinical Practicum and an adjunct faculty member in the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing Nurse Anesthesia Program, teaching topics in pediatric anesthesia. Sue holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh and an undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duquesne University School of Nursing, where she graduated summa cum laude. She has received several awards during her career, including the R.J. Behan Memorial Award for the highest cumulative GPA at Duquesne University, the Mary DePaolis Lutzo CRNA Clinical Instructor of the Year Award from the Pitt Department of Nurse Anesthesia, the Pennsylvania Association of Nurse Anesthetists Clinical Instructor of the Year Award, and Clinical Preceptor of the Year Award from the UPP Office of Advanced Practice Providers Preceptor Academy.
