The UPMC Anesthesiology Education office is pleased to announce that the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) granted full accreditation to our Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship, effective September 21, 2017.
Program Director Jacques E. Chelly, MD, PhD, MBA and GME Academic Manager Risa Panichelle, BS direct the fellowship with oversight from David G. Metro, MD, FASA, core Residency Program Director and Vice Chair for Education and Faculty Affairs and Barb Novak Chismar, BA, Education Office Project Manager. Fifteen fellows per year may be trained in accordance with ACGME program requirements.
All current Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine fellows will graduate from the newly ACGME-accredited fellowship program. Efforts will continue to complete recruitment for the 2018-2019 class.
