Prominent Department Participation at ANESTHESIOLOGY 2023

The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) is a prestigious and influential professional organization dedicated to advancing the field of anesthesiology in the United States. The organization plays a pivotal role in shaping the standards, safety protocols, and practices within the specialty. Comprising thousands of anesthesiologists and healthcare professionals, the ASA serves as a hub for collaboration, research, and education, fostering innovation and excellence in patient care. Its significance within the specialty of anesthesiology cannot be overstated, as it not only sets guidelines for anesthesia practice but also advocates for patient safety, promotes research, and provides valuable resources for practitioners to continuously improve their skills and knowledge, ultimately ensuring the highest quality of perioperative care for patients nationwide.

Every year, our department has a mighty presence at the ASA meeting, with copious participation from our medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty. ANESTHESIOLOGY 2023 will be held in San Francisco, California from October 13-17. We will deliver 74 presentations and eight workshopseight faculty members will moderate or facilitate sessions or workshops; and 27 faculty members and three residents will serve on ASA and ASA-related committees.

Our department's residents will also be participating in the Residency Programs Open House. The event is open to ASA attendees with valid Open House registration, and our residents will be there at Table 90 to introduce our comprehensive residency program, amazing people, and everything that the University of Pittsburgh and UPMC have to offer.

A schedule of our presentations and listing of our representation at the meeting is provided below as a printable PDF. We look forward to seeing all of our esteemed colleagues in San Francisco!
