Dr. Trent Emerick Receives AAPM Distinguished Service Award and Presidential Commendation

Trent D. Emerick, MD, MBA, FASA, Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and Bioengineering and Program Director of the Pain Medicine Fellowship, has been honored with both the Distinguished Service Award and the Presidential Commendation from the American Academy of Pain Medicine (AAPM)

Dr. Emerick has been deeply involved with AAPM in numerous leadership roles. He was recently elected to the AAPM Board of Directors and will officially begin his term at PainConnect 2025, AAPM’s annual meeting, taking place April 3–6, 2025, in Austin, TX. In addition, he serves as Co-Section Editor of the Co-Morbid Pain & Substance Use Disorders Section for Pain Medicine, AAPM’s official journal, and holds key positions on multiple AAPM committees, including:

  • Joint ASRA/ASA/AAPM/ASAM Addiction Medicine and Pain Medicine Committee
  • AAPM Opioid Advisory Committee
  • AAPM Foundation Board Member
  • Vice Chair of the AAPM Membership Committee
  • 2025 Annual Meeting Program Committee

Dr. Emerick’s will be officially recognized for the awards at PainConnect 2025, celebrating his outstanding contributions to the field of pain medicine.
