Dr. Aparna Phadke Promoted to Clinical Associate Professor

Aparna S. Phadke, MDWe are pleased to announce that Aparna S. Phadke, MD, has been promoted to Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine, effective May 1, 2025.

Dr. Phadke joined our department in 2006 and has been an integral member of the clinical team at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, where she provides expert care to complex congenital cardiac patients and supports a wide range of non-cardiac procedures.

Her academic contributions include over 19 publications, encompassing peer-reviewed papers, letters to the editor, meeting abstracts, and both oral and poster presentations at scientific meetings. She is an active member of several professional societies, including the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society of Pediatric Anesthesia, and the Congenital Cardiac Anesthesia Society.

Dr. Phadke is deeply committed to clinical teaching. Since 2006, she has been a regular presenter in our Pediatric Anesthesiology Morning Conference Lecture Series and has mentored numerous residents and pediatric anesthesiology fellows, both in the classroom and the operating room.

In addition, Dr. Phadke has contributed to global health efforts, having served as an anesthesia team leader with Surgicorps International on two missions to Zambia.
