Dr. Andrew Herlich Appointed to Pennsylvania Rare Diseases Advisory Council

On September 6, 2017, Andrew Herlich, DMD, MD, FAAP, FASA was appointed to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health Rare Diseases Advisory Council.

As a member of the council, Dr. Herlich will play an integral role in advising the state regarding the incidence and prevalence of rare diseases, advising public and private entities that provide services to or care for people with rare diseases, and developing content for, composing, and publishing reports. The council will also establish protocols for the surveillance of rare diseases and people with rare diseases, develop a plan to raise public awareness of rare diseases, and identify priorities and develop associated policy recommendations regarding treatment and other services for those with rare diseases.
