The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), an association of educational, research, and scientific physicians organized to raise and maintain the medical practice standards of anesthesiology and improve patient care, is one of the largest and most influential professional societies in anesthesiology. The ASA’s annual meeting features new scientific developments, technology, and challenging cases in the field. Each year, a legion of thought leaders and anesthesia providers from around the world attend the event.
Many medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty from our department participate in the meeting. ANESTHESIOLOGY 2021 will be held in San Diego, CA from October 8-12. Department members will deliver 57 presentations; seven faculty members will moderate or facilitate sessions or workshops; and 14 faculty members and four residents will serve on ASA and ASA-related committees.
