The Department of Anesthesiology is proud to announce our two award winners at this year’s Cameos of Caring Award Gala. The Cameos of Caring Program & Awards honor exceptional bedside nurses who work at acute care hospitals. The program was established in 1999 in keeping with the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing's commitment to the advancement and promotion of the nursing profession.

Chad Artman, CRNA (UPMC Presbyterian)
Chad joined the UPMC Presbyterian team in December 2005. Since then, the department has benefited from his roles as both clinician and educator. He serves as the anesthesiology department liaison with the electrophysiology lab, collaborating with physician anesthesiologists, interventional cardiologists, and nursing staff to ensure safety and improve patient care. In addition, he is a member of the UPMC Presbyterian Quality Improvement Committee. Chad’s co-workers describe him as hard working, professional, and skilled.

Chad is involved in CRNA education at WISER. He is an instructor for the Difficult Airway Management and Central Line Placement workshops. In addition, he teaches an annual high frequency jet ventilation course. Chad has also been lauded by SRNAs for his skills as a preceptor and ability to create a calm learning environment while managing high acuity cases.

Lynette Sikora, CRNA (UPMC Presbyterian)
For the past 24 years, Lynette has served UPMC as clinician and patient advocate. She is recognized by her peers as a role model and frequently requested to provide care for family and friends. Lynette approaches patient care holistically, attending to the needs of both the patient and their family. She is skilled technically, caring for high acuity patients in a dynamic environment. Lynette is unafraid to challenge the system and advocate for changes necessary to improve patient care.

Lynette is passionate about SRNA education and promotes independence and the development of critical thinking skills in a nurturing environment. Positivity, compassion, and caring are words that commonly appear in her student evaluations.
