Congratulations to Charles Lin, MD, Assistant Professor at UPMC Passavant and a FFAST Scholar, for his acceptance into the Pitt Ventures First Gear Program for his device concept, the Ignite Safe Electrocautery Pen to reduce operating room fires. The First Gear Program's goal is to advance concepts to commercialization. As part of the program, Dr. Lin will receive funds for concept design, market analysis, and prototype development.
