This remarkable gathering achieved more than just raising awareness; it successfully garnered $7,500 in funds for the Light of Life Rescue Mission. The organization, with its commitment to providing food, shelter, and hope to those battling homelessness, poverty, or addiction, is making a significant impact in our community.

crowd mingling at the fundraiserDrawing a crowd of 150 attendees, the evening unfolded with a delightful mix of music, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails, auctions, and raffles, all within the exotic ambiance of the Phipps' tropical room. Dr. Anyama served as the event’s master of ceremonies. We were honored to have our faculty member, Steven L. Orebaugh, MD, in attendance, who not only contributed to the event by selling and signing copies of his Pittsburgh-based novel on opioid abuse, "The Stairs on Billy Buck Hill," but also pledged all proceeds from the book sales to the Light of Life. The community rallied behind this cause, showcasing their dedication to combating opioid abuse.
