Ashley Donatucci, PA-C, Senior Physician Assistant at the Center for Perioperative Care at UPMC Shadyside, has been honored as a 2026 UPMC Dignity and Respect Champion. The annual systemwide recognition celebrates employees who foster inclusive workplace environments where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and appreciated.
"Ashley exemplifies dignity and respect through her compassionate, patient-centered approach and unwavering commitment to excellence in perioperative care," organizers noted during the ceremony held on January 22 at Acrisure Stadium. "She consistently ensures that patients feel calm, prepared, and supported, while skillfully balancing clinical expertise with genuine human connection. Through her leadership, mentorship, and dedication to collaboration, Ashley continues to shape a positive workplace culture that reflects the very heart of dignity and respect."
UPMC's Dignity and Respect Champions are selected for modeling behaviors that support belonging, creating positive environments for colleagues and patients alike, and setting the standard for workplace culture across the health system. Ashley was recognized alongside fellow champions from across UPMC facilities during the morning celebration.
Joining Ashley at the virtual ceremony were her husband and daughter, along with colleagues Karen Destefano, PA-C, UPMC Shadyside Physician Assistant Supervisor, and Shannon Morrissey, MSCL, Assistant Administrator for the Center for Innovation in Pain Care, Chronic Pain Management Division, and Center for Perioperative Care.
