The UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center)/University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine (UPSOM) Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine and the UPSOM Center for Continuing Education in the Health Sciences invite you to the 14th Annual Pennsylvania Anesthesiology Resident Research Conference (PARRC).

PARRC is a wonderful opportunity for residents and faculty to learn about current, cutting edge research by anesthesiology residents from residency programs across the state of Pennsylvania. As you listen to the original research and case report presentations, you will learn about resident scholarly activities performed in each institution.

Please register by April 27, 2019.

Complimentary registration for trainees and faculty includes participation in the conference, continental breakfast, breaks, lunch, and CME credits for faculty.  All participants must register online at https://ccehs.upmc.com  (Click on “Upcoming Events”).  Cancellations should be sent via email to chisbn@upmc.edu no later than April 25, 2019.

Abstract Submission

Abstract submission will be open until March 18, 2019.

Instructions:

  1. Abstracts are limited to one page (minimum font size - 11 point), including title, authors, department and institution, references, figures, figure legends and/or tables. There is no limitation to the number of figures and tables; however, you must adjust the word count in the text to accommodate those in one page.
  2. Residents may submit more than one abstract.
  3. An abstract supplement will be distributed at the conference. Abstracts will appear exactly as submitted, so please proof-read your abstract carefully prior to the submission.

Judging and Awards:

  • All abstracts will be presented as either oral or poster presentations and will be judged at the conference.
  • Judges will review submitted abstracts and select original research and case reports for oral presentation. Presenting authors will be notified by e-mail.
  • At the end of the conference, awards will be given for the three best oral presentations in each category: Original Research Oral Presentation and Case Report Oral Presentation.
  • Also, awards will be given for the three best posters in each category: Original Research Poster Presentation and Case Report Poster Presentation.
